About

About The Renter’s Court

We’re renters who got burned and decided to fight back.

Who we are

The Renter’s Court is an independent consumer site for guests who had a bad Airbnb, Vrbo or other short-term rental stay. We publish practical guides, a daily feed of public claims, updates on new rules, and a free weekly email called The Brief.

We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia or any platform. Platform names are used only to describe where an experience happened.

What we are not

We are not a law firm. We do not represent anyone, we do not file or join lawsuits, and nothing on this site is legal advice. When we hear about a class action, a new short-term rental law or an effort to hold hosts and platforms accountable, we share it as we find it, with a link to the source, so you can decide for yourself.

How we source

How claims are labeled

Guest stories and NitemAirbnb items are reported, not proven. Each one is labeled as an unverified claim or as a guest’s own account, and none of it is a finding of fact. We do not publish names or locations from unverified user reports. See our content policy for the full rules.

Corrections

If you are named in an entry or spot an error, use the correction and response form. We fix factual errors in our summaries once they are confirmed, and we can publish your response next to the entry.

How to reach us
